COMPASS CHIROPRACTIC is a Chiropractic practice that helps patients with musculoskeletal problems, neurological issues, spinal and extraspinal alignment, and overall health and well being.
COMPASS CHIROPRACTIC offers a range of chiropractic services including adjustments, spinal decompression, electrical stimulation, trigger point therapy, targeted massage, and rehabilitation exercises.
COMPASS CHIROPRACTIC can help with a variety of conditions including back pain, neck pain, headaches, and joint pain. We also effectively help to reduce neurological paresthesia (changes in normal sensation throughout the body) such as radiculopathy, sciatica, etc.
On your first visit to the office, you will receive a consultation with our Doctor of Chiropractic where your full history will be taken through which goals will be set to monitor the progress of your care. An examination will be performed including a physical examination, neurological (if needed), and full spine digital X-Rays. You will also receive some form of therapeutic care before leaving the office.
This is a 3-part answer:
Currently the answer is YES for Medicare and BlueCross BlueShield (BCBS). We are still actively working to become a provider with various other major insurance companies and will soon be “In-Network” with a number more of them. We will keep you updated on this and inform you as we begin accepting more and more insurances.
ABSOLUTELY, we do. You do not have to have insurance or even utilize the insurance that you do have in order to be a patient.
A Chiropractic Emergency is defined simply as acute neck or back pain: Sudden pain in your neck or back that has no clear cause is also considered a chiropractic emergency. Anything involving cuts, lacerations, or other similar emergencies are best handled at the ER or urgent care center. There is an extra fee for this service as it will require our doctor to meet you at the office outside of regular business hours.
In the beginning you may feel a little sore. The Chiropractic adjustment is like exercise for the spine and as such, a little soreness is absolutely normal. This soreness, like regular exercise, may last up to 2 days but not beyond. Drink plenty of water and stretch well after your adjustment to reduce soreness and aid in the healing process.
MOST of the time the answer is NO. However, there are circumstances when it can be a little painful to get certain joints of the body that are extremely “stuck” moving again (example: waking up with a “crick” in your neck and needing to get it adjusted). Extra muscle care is given after the adjustment to help mitigate pain levels in these circumstances.
YES! It is very safe for young kiddos. Children tend to heal rapidly and so the frequency of their visits tends to be less on average. We have seen kids that are in pain as well as young athletes looking to increase performance and reduce the risk of injury.
In general, the answer is a resounding YES! Chiropractic has been seen to help expecting mothers reduce discomfort so that they can focus on what’s most important, growing a happy healthy baby. At Compass Chiropractic we have a doctor on staff that is Webster Technique Certified, a technique specifically designed for the care of mothers who are expecting. Of course, you should always check with your OBGYN to make sure they are comfortable with you receiving Chiropractic care throughout your pregnancy.
Oh yes, they certainly are! Ideally you want to stay out of pain, right? Of course you do! Regular adjustments can help prevent re-injury and keep you moving so that you can focus on becoming the best version of yourself.
This depends on where you are in your health journey. If you are in quite a bit of pain or discomfort then you will need to be seen more frequently whereas if you are doing well and do not have any complaints, you will be seen less frequently. Our goal is to eventually help every one of our patients reach what we call the “Gold Standard of Maintenance Care” which is one office visit per month.
No. Not all Chiropractors are the same. While this sounds bad, it is actually a great thing! A Chiropractor’s business is a reflection of their own personal philosophy down to the level of care given to patients and how their office operates. This even shows up in the specific adjusting techniques that they choose to use. It is important to understand that you must find the Chiropractor that is the best “fit” for you and your family.
Some patients find the popping a bit disturbing. However, research shows that popping is simply the release of gas bubbles from the spine itself (mostly nitrogen). The medical term is tribonucleation. These gasses naturally build up over time in the joint space and as that space opens between the bony vertebrae in the back during an adjustment, they are released, often making that familiar sound of “pop”.
Yes, we do. Our doctor has worked on a variety of different PI cases as well as with a variety of different lawyers and third-party insurance companies to help personal injury victims get better.
